Penny Tweedie

"I photograph people in their environment - whether in conflict, comfort or corporate!"

As a foremost photojournalist, multi-award winner, Penny Tweedie has worked in over 70 countries, covering major events in Vietnam, Beirut, Israel, Libya and East Timor.

For several years, Penny lived and worked closely with Aboriginal artists families and communities in Arnhem Land, resulting in intimate portrayals of aboriginal culture and customs, which she followed up with her books, This is My Country: A View of Arnhem Land, Spirit of Arnhem Land and most recently Standing Strong… - another dynamic documentation in photographs, this time of works of enterprising and successful young Indigenous Australians. Penny has worked on assignments for major magazine and publications, including National Geographic, Newsweek and Time Magazines. Her work has been exhibited worldwide, including London and New York.
